Okay, you're going to need this for an upcoming recipe. It's an answer to an age old question: How do you hard boil an egg? I found this recipe somewhere and it's so easy. I wish I could reference where I got it from. If you are going to make deviled eggs, I suggest laying the eggs on their side in the refrigerator the night before. This helps center the yolk. This recipe works for any amount of eggs, so there are no adjustments to be made from 1 to a million. Follow these steps: -Place all of your eggs in any size sauce pan that they fit in.
-Add cold water until the eggs are submerged. -Add 1 tsp of baking soda. -Bring to a boil. -Once the water starts to boil, set a timer for 3 minutes. -When the timer goes off, remove from heat and cover. -Set a time for 8 minutes. -After the last timer goes off, drain off the hot water and constantly run cold water in the pan. -You can add a few ice cubes to speed up the process. -Once the eggs are cool to the touch, drain off all of the water. -Place the sauce pan with the eggs in the refrigerator, uncovered. -Your eggs will be ready in an hour. That's it! Enjoy as is or go and make some Deviled Eggs. |
